This time of year, I hear it a lot.
“I’ve built my New Year’s program.”
“I’m going all in.”
“I’m pushing hard this time.”
Here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear:
One brutal workout won’t change much.
But showing up consistently—even at 70%—changes everything.
Intensity feels productive. It feels motivating. But intensity, more often than not, isn’t sustainable. And unsustainable approaches almost always lead to plateaus… usually faster, and usually harder ones to work through.
If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.
As a health and fitness coach, I can tell you with confidence: plateaus are inevitable. They’re not a sign that your body is quitting — they’re a sign that your body is adapting.
The scale isn’t broken.
Your body isn’t broken.
The strategy may simply need to evolve.
What works in the beginning rarely works forever. Long-term progress doesn’t come from punishment or pushing harder — it comes from adjustment. That’s why the length and severity of a plateau is often tied directly to the length and severity of a person’s “diet.”
When we approach health and fitness in a more sustainable way, we slowly teach the body that these changes are here to stay — not just a temporary shock to the system. That’s where momentum builds. That’s where lifelong habits are created.
Yes, plateaus will happen. But there are proven strategies to minimize them — including things like strategic diet breaks and refeed days. There’s intention, math, and experience behind those decisions… not guesswork.
Consistency beats intensity.
Calm beats chaos.
Progress beats perfection.
If your goal is lifelong health and fitness, this is the path. 😊
If you need help navigating plateaus, building a sustainable plan, or want guidance beyond trial-and-error — I am currently accepting clients here. Reach out and let’s build something that actually lasts. 💪🏼
