Happy Mindset Monday! 😎

It was a beautiful Saturday evening, so Melissa and Vinnie and I decided to stop at our local municipal park. This is the park that, four years ago, Vinnie (with the help of his family), set up the exercise stations for the community as part of his Eagle Scout project.

We were told that they placed a plaque on one of the stations, recognizing Vinnie and his efforts.

It was so nice to see and revisit this fantastic project. He put in so much effort and the whole family helped him build the stations and cement them firmly into the ground.

It just made so much sense that his Eagle Scout project was fitness focused.

There’s so many great benefits of getting children involved in any kind of physical activity. And gyms are far from the only option. But it is great to see kids working out. It shows them that placing your health and wellness high on the list of priorities is normal and important.

Kids learn the relationship between effort and results. If you patiently put in effort across time, and do it with consistency, you’ll get stronger, healthier, and change your body physically.

And this goes far beyond physical health. It leads to applying this relationship to education, work, entrepreneurship, relationships, and much more.

And it seems like every week there are more and more studies detailing the mental health benefits of both physical activity, as well as eating healthy.

And starting a child’s day with a healthy breakfast sets them up for success. Better energy. Better attention in school. Better mood. Better discipline.

I post a lot. And yet I hope that if you have one take away, it is this…

“Don’t start your child’s day with a doughnut!”

Don’t get me wrong, Melissa and I made plenty of mistakes. And I know that getting a good breakfast ready for your child can add one more layer of complexity to an already busy morning.

The exercise and good nutrition was one factor that we could kind of control that would have a positive impact on their entire life!

And remember..

This isn’t just about eating right.

This isn’t just about hitting the gym.

This is how we do LIFE! 💪🏼
