One of the most common traps I see—especially with busy professionals, former athletes, and high-achievers—is how quickly the mind goes to…
“What can’t I do?”
Injury. Travel. Stress. A chaotic week.
Suddenly it becomes: no heavy lifting, no running, no perfect plan… so what’s the point?
And just like that, momentum starts to fade.
Here’s the shift:
Ask a better question—“What can I do right now that moves me forward?”
That simple reframe changes everything. It puts you back in control.
Maybe you can’t train legs hard right now…
…but you can focus on upper body.
You can hit your protein.
You can walk.
You can prioritize sleep.
Those “small” actions? They’re not small at all.
They maintain identity. They preserve momentum. And most importantly—they keep you in the game.
I had a client who needed foot surgery. Instead of shutting things down, he asked, “What can we do?”
We dialed in nutrition. Focused on upper body. Adjusted lower body work to remove pressure.
And guess what? He didn’t fall off—he moved forward.
That’s the difference.
The all-or-nothing mindset tells you if it’s not 100%, it’s not worth doing.
But real progress? It’s built on adaptability.
Life will always throw curveballs.
The question is—will you stop… or will you adjust?
This week, when things aren’t perfect, pause and ask yourself:
What CAN I do right now?
Then do that. Consistently.
That’s how momentum—and long-term success—is built. 💪🏼😊
