Let’s harness the power of positive momentum!

I’ve watched a lot of both college and professional football over the last few weeks. And I’ve really paid special interest to the swings in momentum.
I think this is really profound, and I’m anxious to see if the NFL teams with the current big momentum continue down that path of victory.
It just got me thinking a lot about momentum.
Is the momentum caused by a positive event? (a fumble recovery)
Or a negative event? (an injury)
Is the momentum caused by the play of one individual? (interception)
Or did the team cause the momentum swing? (A big special teams play put the offense into overdrive)
Maybe it was some outside force? (a coaching change)
I think absolutely the same can be said for our health and fitness.
Do you want to get your health and fitness moving in the right direction?
You need a momentum swing!
Maybe it comes from within you.
(“I’m sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.”)
Maybe it comes from the outside.
(you overhear the child at the grocery store referencing your size.)
Maybe it came from a positive event.
(an upcoming wedding.)
And I pray to God that it did not come from a negative event, such as opening your eyes on a surgical table after a quadruple bypass.
But momentum is a real thing!
My suggestion?
Create your own momentum! Don’t wait for somebody to do it for you! It doesn’t have to be big. It doesn’t need to be grand. But start to create your own momentum.
How about something like… Start off each day with a little walk and a healthy breakfast.
Maybe in a day or two you’ll wake up with a little little bit more energy.
And you can use that energy to move your body a little bit more.
And then you’ll see the scale move in the right direction.
And that’ll give you some encouragement.
And you’ll do it again.
And again.
And yet again!
Yes, that’s the power of momentum! 💪🏼
